Our mission

PixInstant is an independent buying guide and comparison site dedicated to instant photography. Our mission is simple: to help you find the best Instax or Polaroid camera for your needs, with no corporate speak and full transparency.

With so many models available — Instax Mini 12, Mini 99, Polaroid Now, Polaroid Now+, and many more — it has become difficult to make the right choice. Between manufacturer product pages, questionable reviews and sponsored rankings, consumers are often lost. That is exactly the problem we aim to solve.

Our story

PixInstant was born from a simple observation: the resurgence of instant photography created a flood of new models, yet no independent source was thoroughly testing them in real-world conditions. Founded in 2024 by a team of photography enthusiasts, we set out to create the most reliable resource for instant camera buyers worldwide.

What started as a small blog reviewing Fujifilm Instax cameras quickly grew into a multilingual platform covering Polaroid, Lomography, and hybrid instant cameras. Today, we serve readers in five languages across Europe and North America.

Our methodology

Every camera we recommend has been tested in real-world conditions by our team. We do not write theoretical comparisons based on spec sheets: we use the cameras day-to-day for several weeks, in varied contexts — birthdays, travel, parties, portraits.

Our tests follow a precise methodology:

• Real-world usage: each camera is used for at least 3 weeks in everyday situations
• Controlled comparisons: same scene, same lighting, same subject across different models
• Long-term evaluation: battery life, reliability, film cost over time
• Blind image quality tests: we compare prints without knowing which camera took them

Editorial standards

We maintain strict editorial independence. Our writers are not influenced by advertisers or manufacturers. Every review is fact-checked, and we update our content regularly to reflect price changes, firmware updates, and new model releases. If we make a mistake, we correct it transparently.

Our independence

PixInstant is published by Zoomzen SAS. Our only revenue comes from affiliate commissions when you click on our partner links (mainly Amazon). This does not influence our ratings or recommendations: our editorial team works independently, and no manufacturer can pay for a better review or ranking.

We buy all our test units at retail price. None are provided by manufacturers.

How we fund our work

The team
