About PixInstant
Our mission
PixInstant is an independent buying guide and comparison site dedicated to instant photography. Our mission is simple: to help you find the best Instax or Polaroid camera for your needs, with no corporate speak and full transparency.
With so many models available — Instax Mini 12, Mini 99, Polaroid Now, Polaroid Now+, and many more — it has become difficult to make the right choice. Between manufacturer product pages, questionable reviews and sponsored rankings, consumers are often lost. That is exactly the problem we aim to solve.

Our story
PixInstant was born from a simple observation: the resurgence of instant photography created a flood of new models, yet no independent source was thoroughly testing them in real-world conditions. Founded in 2024 by a team of photography enthusiasts, we set out to create the most reliable resource for instant camera buyers worldwide.
What started as a small blog reviewing Fujifilm Instax cameras quickly grew into a multilingual platform covering Polaroid, Lomography, and hybrid instant cameras. Today, we serve readers in five languages across Europe and North America.
Our methodology
We publish two kinds of content, and we separate them clearly. When a camera has been physically used by our team, we say so and describe the testing context.
Some guides, comparisons and product pages are sourced editorial analyses rather than hands-on reviews. In those cases, we rely on official spec sheets, manuals, warranty information, merchant pricing and other identified sources, and we label the content accordingly, including tested: false when relevant.
Our methodology therefore focuses on:
- Clear labelling: hands-on coverage is identified as such, and documentary analysis is not presented as a physical review
- Named sources: official documents, manuals, retailer data and identified references
- Comparable criteria: image quality, ergonomics, total cost, ecosystem and intended use
- Ongoing updates: we revise pages when prices, stock or specifications materially change
Editorial standards
We maintain strict editorial independence. Our writers are not influenced by advertisers or manufacturers. Every review is fact-checked, and we update our content regularly to reflect price changes, firmware updates, and new model releases. If we make a mistake, we correct it transparently.
Our independence
PixInstant is published by Zoomzen SAS. Our revenue comes from affiliate commissions when you click on some partner links and make a purchase. This does not influence our ratings or recommendations: our editorial team works independently, and no manufacturer can pay for a better review or ranking.
When a piece is based on hands-on use, we describe what was actually tested. When it is documentary, we do not present it as a physical review.
How we fund our work
Affiliate commissions allow us to purchase cameras, film, and testing equipment without relying on banner ads or sponsored content. When you click a partner link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This sustainable model keeps our content free and independent.
The team
Our small but passionate team includes photographers, writers, and tech reviewers based in France. We speak English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian to serve our diverse audience. Our guidance combines hands-on observations when available and sourced documentary research when a piece is marked as non-tested.

The PixInstant team
Editorial & instant photography analysis
We publish both hands-on pieces and sourced documentary analyses. When a camera has been used in real-world conditions, we say so; when a piece relies on sources rather than physical handling, we state that clearly.
Our editorial method
Hands-on coverage flagged
When a camera has been physically used by our team, we say so and describe the testing context.
Sources and criteria
Our assessments rely on documented observations or identified sources: official specs, manuals and merchant pricing.
Editorial independence
Our reviews are not influenced by brands. When a piece relies on sources rather than direct testing, we make that explicit.
