Polaroid Go Generation 3: Polaroid's smallest formula, refined

The Polaroid Go Generation 3 launched on 2 June 2026 on polaroid.com, with retail availability announced from 16 June, at around €89. It succeeds the Go Gen 2 from 2024 and keeps the same principle: a pocket-sized analogue instant camera powered by Polaroid Go film.

What the official specifications say

According to polaroid.com, the Go Gen 3 measures 106.5 × 83.8 × 64.6 mm and weighs 251.9 g without film. It packs a lithium-ion battery rechargeable via USB-C (680 mAh according to retailer spec sheets), with a claimed battery life of up to 15 film packs per charge. The camera keeps the Gen 2's selfie mirror, self-timer and double-exposure mode, and adds two hardware improvements highlighted by the brand: a new lens and a more powerful flash, aimed at sharper shots and closer selfies with fewer reflections.

The body comes in five colours and only accepts Polaroid Go film, whose prints measure 66.6 × 53.9 mm in packs of 8 exposures.

Go Gen 3 vs Go Gen 2: what changes

Compared to the Go Gen 2, generation 3 plays the correction card rather than reinvention. Polaroid communicates on three points: a revised lens, a stronger flash and five new colours. According to the first hands-on reports published by the specialist press, the body is slightly larger and heavier than the Gen 2, without changing size category.

The ecosystem, meanwhile, does not move: same Go film, same mini square format, same fully automatic philosophy. The Gen 3 therefore targets new buyers more than Gen 2 owners.

Limitations to keep in mind

The Go format is a choice you have to embrace: the prints are small, and Polaroid chemistry needs a few minutes to develop away from light. The camera offers no manual setting at all, and the fixed focal length forces you to work with distance. Finally, Go film is not compatible with any other camera, including other Polaroids: it is a closed ecosystem.
